The Learning Tree Early Childhood Center of Mishkan Israel is licensed by the Office of Early Childhood with the State of Connecticut. We are a Jewish preschool that provides a continuum of educational play opportunities for children of all faiths, from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years (including pre-kindergarten). We provide responsive and supportive classroom activities designed to meet the developmental needs of young children. To learn more and schedule a tour, please call the office at 203-288-2375.

Philosophy & Values

At The Learning Tree we value each child as both a unique individual and a member of our school community. Our educational philosophy is consistent with guiding principles about early learning and child development as outlined by the Connecticut Department of Social Services and Board of Education. Our dedicated teachers and warm classroom environments create a community where children learn to care about others, develop a positive self-image, and master the skills that are the foundations for successful early childhood learning.

Programs

The Learning Tree is open Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., year round. We offer full-day and half-day enrollment, with options for three or five days per week. We offer year round, open registration.

Director

Jennifer Verrier,M.Ed. director

Jennifer has been an Early Childhood educator for more than 20 years, most recently at Temple Israel in New Rochelle, NY. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Elementary Education from Southern Connecticut State University in 2000 and her Masters in Early Childhood Education/Administration and Leadership from Champlain College in 2017. After earning her BA, Jennifer began teaching preschool. This sparked a passion for all things Early Childhood.

With a proven track record of successfully managing and growing early childhood centers, Jennifer believes that it is her role to provide teachers with tools to be successful, show them how to use those tools, and guide them through the entire process as their cheerleader. She focuses her energy on building strong positive relationships with teachers and families striving to foster a close feeling of community within the program.
