Attend a Jewish Summer Camp or Israel Trip

For generations Jewish camps have inspired our children to love Judaism, live Jewishly throughout their lives, and to be their best, most authentic selves. Rabbi Immerman often says that he is the rabbi, father, husband and person he is today because of his experience with Jewish camping. Studies have shown that Jewish children who attend Jewish summer camp and Israel trips feel a more profound sense of Jewish identity and purpose.

We are fortunate to have many Jewish day and overnight camps in our area. If you already attend a camp, that’s wonderful.. Read URJ’s six reasons to attend summer camp.

We also offer annual scholarships for students to attend camp.

Jewish Day Camps for Younger Children (Ages 4-9)

Woodbridge, CT

At JCC Day Camps children expand their horizons, hone their social skills, develop leadership skills all while having the time of their lives. Located at the JCC of Greater New Haven, the camp’s outstanding facility includes an outdoor pool, a stage, sports fields, hiking trails, a low ropes course, arts and crafts area, a volleyball court, picnic areas, and more.

Jewish values are woven into the fabric of camp life through daily activities. The concept of “tikkun olam”—of helping one’s local community and repairing the world—is central to Judaism. At JCC Day Camps, we bring that concept to life through volunteer work, acts of kindness and compassion, and tzedakah projects, that our campers take part in.
