It's time to Pivot: Exploring our role in environmental justice

  • Congregation Mishkan Israel 785 Ridge Road Hamden, CT, 06517 United States (map)

New Haven author and documentary filmmaker Steve Hamm will make the case for communities pivoting to become more sustainable and individuals to become climate activists.

Steve was an embedded journalist in Pivot Projects, a global all-volunteer collaboration launched at the beginning of the COVID crisis to help foster sustainability on the global and local levels.

He will describe the journey of Pivot Projects and his book, The Pivot: Addressing Global Problems Through Local Action. In particular, he will explore the role of faiths in climate action. The presentation will include the screening of a short video, The Voices of Youth on Climate Change, comments from a young member of the congregation, and a discussion of how the congregation and individual members can take action.

Thought not neccesary for participation, we recommend that you read Steve’s book, The Pivot.
