The CMI Ritual Committee, Brotherhood of Men and Women, and Membership Committee invite you to a two-part series led by Rabbi Ross on how CMI members can support each other during inevitable times of loss. The first session, Explaining Jewish Death and Mourning Customs to Adults and Children will be held on Sunday April 28 at 10:00 a.m. We will address the question: "What does Jewish tradition and the Torah itself say about the needs of mourners and the mitzvot of providing comfort?." The second session, How to Lead a Shivah Service, will be held on Wednesday May 1 at 7:00 p.m. During this session, will review the particular custom of observing shiva in mourners' homes and will prepare both experienced and aspiring service leaders to lead an in-home shivah minyan when a mourning member requests it. All members are invited to participate in both sessions, which will be held in the CMI library and on Zoom. In person attendance is encouraged
