Please join us on Wednesday, April 11th, at 7 pm for our monthly celebration of the arrival of the new moon, marking the start of Nisan.
We will be discussing “Train Yourself to Always Show Up,” a January 19, 2024 New York Times opinion guest essay by Rabbi Sharon Brous. The essay was adapted from Rabbi Brous’s new book, The Amen Effect, which we will also discuss. Rabbi Brous is the founding and senior rabbi of Ikar, a Los Angeles-based Jewish community.
We will discuss the many ways in which we "show up" for others and need others to show up for us. Come prepared to share a personal story or example if you wish to do so.
It is not necessary to read the book before attending, but it will be helpful if all attendees are familiar with the NYT opinion piece. A copy of the opinion piece will be distributed to all attendees before the meeting upon request.
