Rabbi Ross will speak on "How We Achieved Marriage Equality in New York State: A Personal Perspective."
Rabbi Ross served as director of Concerned Clergy for Choice at Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts for more than 20 years, where he led a multi faith network of religious leaders in advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, keeping abortion safe and legal, access to contraception, sex education for youth, and more. He will share the "behind the scenes" religious perspective of how New York became the sixth state to enact marriage equality in 2011.
Join us for our annual Pride Shabbat service celebrating our LGBTQ+ members and affirming that all people are created B’tzelem Elohim, in the image of God. The service will be led by members of our community with special readings and prayers along with Rabbi Immerman and Cantor Giglio.
We will say the mi shebeirach, read the kaddish list, and recite the mourner’s kaddish. If you wish to add additional names to the mi shebeirach or kaddish list, please email Sarah Legassey by 12pm on Friday.
