Join us for our annual Pride Shabbat service celebrating our LGBTQ+ members and affirming that all people are created B’tzelem Elohim, in the image of God. The service will be led by members of our community with special readings and prayers along with Rabbi Immerman and Cantor Giglio.
Our speakers will be CMI members Mara and Ethan Balk, who will talk about drag culture and performance. The Balks are former members of the Royal Renegades Drag King troupe from Columbus, Ohio and were part of the community featured in the 2017 documentary "Kings, Queens, and In-Betweens" (Five Sisters Productions). Ethan was the first winner of Nina West's Drag Star Search and also performed in the West Family productions.
We will say the mi shebeirach, read the kaddish list, and recite the mourner’s kaddish. If you wish to add additional names to the mi shebeirach or kaddish list, please email Sarah Legassey by 12pm on Friday.
