As part of the CMI Confronting Racism Series, the CMI Planning Group and the Greater New Haven African American Historical Society will present a discussion of the significance of Exodus: enslavement/ oppression, liberation, and migration in Jewish and African American traditions. We will share stories from Jewish Passover traditions commemorating the Exodus from Egypt, and from African American communities related to the Great Migration, with a particular focus on the impact in Greater New Haven of African Americans fleeing oppression in the American South and elsewhere. We will highlight the resilience and bravery of people engaged in major migrations, and seeking a better life. All are welcome.
