Confronting Racism in Art: A Curated Visit to the Yale University Art Gallery Sunday, May 4, 2025 2:15 pm
Confronting Racism takes it on the road!
We will meet in the lobby of the Yale Art Gallery at 2:15 pm. Sunday May 4th. (The tour begins promptly at 2:30.)
Yale Art Gallery docents will facilitate small group exploration for our CMI party, looking at several works of art that reflect anti-Black racism and its effects, and resistance to racism. There will be opportunities to learn more about the art and to ask questions.
After our one-hour tour, our discussions will continue over coffee and pastries at MOTW on Crown St (2 blocks away). https://motw.coffee/
If you plan to join the follow up discussion, we will collect $10 each to cover a selection of shared pastries. A variety of drinks and other items will also be available for individual purchase.
Everyone at CMI is welcome, including family groups.
Please register by April 28 for this special event, to permit the Art Gallery to prepare enough docents for our visit.
Those who register by April 28 will receive confirmation and some additional information.
Carpooling from the CMI parking lot is encouraged. Free street parking in the area is available on Sundays, and there is a large parking garage at 150 York St.
