August 28, 5:30-7:30 PM. CMI Small Social Hall or CMI Patio, weather permitting
The CMI Confronting Racism planning group will host a social event for CMI members. Anyone who has attended any of the Confronting Racism Series sessions or special events is invited. And ALL CMI members, who want to learn and discuss more about a Jewish perspective on race and racism, are welcome.
As an added bonus, Michael Dimenstein, CMI member and past CMI Board president will be our guest speaker and will talk about the work of the New Haven Jewish Historical Society where he currently serves as President. The Jewish Historical Society is a member of the Ethnic Heritage Center Association which, along with the Greater New Haven African American Historical Society and three other ethnic historical societies, are united by the desire to collect, preserve and disseminate their histories, and offer programs that illuminate cultural differences and similarities and educate the public on the relevance of these histories in current times.
Please join us for dinner and an evening of stimulating conversation with fellow CMI members and our featured guest. To help us plan for the dinner PLEASE RSVP BY AUGUST 21th to Nancy Moss- Racusin .
