Join us as we followup our three-part fall series on antisemitism for our second film of the spring! This evening will be both entertaining and intellectually challenging. Before each showing there will be an informative introduction and after each there will be opportunities for discussion.
Penny Marcus will lead the discussion of the 1970 film "The Garden of the Finzi-Continis" which won the 1972 Academy Award for best foreign film. The film concerns the growing threats during the 1930's to the affluent and assimilated Jewish Italian community. This film offers an opportunity to analyze not only historical but also modern circumstances and how, if at all, we can learn from the past.
Free and open to the entire community.
