Rabbi Robert Goldburg Peace and Justice Service
Friday, June 21, 2024, 6 pm –7 pm.
CMI’s third annual Juneteenth celebration will take place at Shabbat services on June 21. This will be an interfaith service. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Tubyez Cropper, Community Engagement Program Manager at the Yale Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. Mr. Cropper has been deeply involved in the Yale & Slavery Working Group. He also wrote and directed the recent documentary What Could Have Been, about the 1831 HBCU proposed by educators and activists of the time but defeated by the White establishment in New Haven. A dessert reception will follow the service.
Rabbi Ross will deliver a d’var Torah and we will have an opportunity to say the mi shebeirach, read the kaddish list, and recite the mourner’s kaddish. If you wish to add additional names to the mi shebeirach or kaddish list, please email Sarah Legassey by 12pm on Friday.
