Family Education

All grades have a Family Education component. Parents learn alongside their children (and separately from them) with the clergy and faculty.

Some examples of family programs are:

Second grade — study of tzedakah
Third grade — the meaning of a Hebrew names
Fifth grade — Jewish lifecycles, including participating in a wedding vow renewal ceremony
Seventh grade — righteous gentiles during the Holocaust.

Each month, at our Family Service, one grade participates in leading the service. Prior to the service, the class and their parents gather for a traditional Shabbat evening meal and learn to celebrate Shabbat together. Parents are always invited to school celebrations of the Jewish holidays.
